Norwegian-konsernet med solid vekst i 2024

Norwegian hadde i hele 2024 et driftsresultat (EBIT) for konsernet på 1 873 millioner kroner, det nest høyeste i selskapets historie. Fjerde kvartal endte med et negativt driftsresultat (EBIT) på 93 millioner kroner, påvirket av en svakere krone mot dollar. Året inkluderte et svært vellykket oppkjøp av Widerøe, samt en solid kapasitetsvekst.

Norwegian slipper ruter for vintersesongen 2025-2026

Vinter og snø blir det også neste år. I dag åpner Norwegian for salg av flybilletter for neste vintersesong. Fra de nordiske landene flyr selskapet totalt 159 ruter til 82 destinasjoner.

I januar hadde Norwegian 1 273 809 passasjerer, mens Widerøe hadde 294 066 passasjerer, totalt 1 567 875 for konsernet. Antall passasjerer i årets første måned økte med tolv prosent for Norwegian og 19 prosent for Widerøe i forhold til januar 2024. Norwegian hadde en kapasitetsøkning på hele 23 prosent sammenlignet med fjoråret.

Reiseåret 2024 «Wrapped»

De nordiske rutene dominerte i Norwegians nettverk i fjor. Utenfor Norden var det London som var det mest populære reisemålet på tvers av Skandinavia. Over 55 000 par med ski reiste med flyselskapet, og omtrent seks prosent av passasjerene fant ut at de behøvde ekstra bagasje når de ankom flyplassen. Dette er høydepunktene fra Norwegian i 2024.

Norwegian er et ledende nordisk luftfartskonsern med hovedkontor på Fornebu i Bærum. Selskapet har over 8 200 ansatte og eier to av Nordens ledende flyselskap: Norwegian Air Shuttle og Widerøes Flyveselskap. Widerøes Flyveselskap er Norges eldste flyselskap og har mer enn 3 500 ansatte. Selskapet opererer hovedsaklig kortbaneflyplassene i Distrikts-Norge, og flyr mange anbudsruter i tillegg til sitt eget kommersielle nettverk. I 2024 hadde Widerøe 3,8 millioner passasjerer og en flåte på 49 fly: 46 Bombardier Dash-8- og tre Embraer E190-E2. Widerøe Ground Handling håndterer bakketjenester på 41 flyplasser i Norge.

Norwegian-konsernet er en pådriver for bærekraftige løsninger og jobber kontinuerlig for å redusere egne utslipp. Blant flere initiativer, er investering i produksjon og bruk av fossilfritt flydrivstoff (SAF) den største satsningen. Norwegian ønsker å bli det bærekraftige valget for passasjerene og bidra til grønn omstilling av luftfarten.
